According to reports, it was announced earlier that comedian Chris Rock has been picked to Host the 2014 BET Awards!
The comedian and actor was announced as the host of this year’s BET Awards and he says no one will be spared when it comes to his jokes.
Rock announced he would be hosting the awards program on the network’s hit show 106 & Park on Wednesday. This will be his first time hosting.
“To me you’ve got to get in that barbershop funny,” he said. “You’ve got to know what’s going on. Be aware. Get your timing. I don’t change a lot. I try to pay attention to the show.”
As we reported earlier, the nominees were also announced on Wednesday and featured Jay Z, Beyoné and Drake lead the pack with five nods each. Pharrell Williams and Best New Artist nominee August Alsina follow with four nominations.
“I’m rooting for everybody,” he said. “It’s weird because I usually root for the person whose life it’ll change the most. I love Beyonc´, but she’ll be fine whether she wins or not. I root for the little people.”
The BET Awards 2014 will air live on Sunday, June 29 at 8 p.m. ET
