Chris Rock & Prince Help Pull In Ratings For ‘Saturday Night Live’ To A Season High!

Posted Nov 3, 2014

Rock And PrinceAfter many consecutive weeks for having extremely low ratings, it seems that the ratings were released on Sunday morning and comedian Chris Rock and musical guest Prince were a hit on NBC’s Saturday Night Live!

If you were not aware, SNL’s ratings have been at its lowest and when it was announced a couple of weeks ago that Chris Rock was going to host on SNL, social media went into a frenzy. This was evident on Saturday during the broadcast as Rock and Prince were one of the top trending subjects on Twitter and several other social media outlets.

Check out what industry leading Deadline had to say about the show below:

Saturday Night Live ratings are on the mend. For a second consecutive show, the late-night program posted week-to-week increases and season highs. Last night, the episode hosted by Chris Rock with musical guest Prince drew a 4.9 rating in the metered markets households and a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating in the markets with Local People Meters. That was up by +20%, from last Saturday’s show hosted by Jim Carrey with musical guest Iggy Azalea. In adults 18-49, the ratings gain was 9%. The big household jump was likely helped by Prince’s older but large following. This was SNL’s top household result since Feb. 1 (with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Imagine Dragons, 5.4); in adults 18-49, it was the best rating since March 1 (with host Jim Parsons and musical guest Beck, also 2.4).
