We just discovered that comedian and actor Charlie Murphy will be honored at the 8th Annual Pocono Mountains Film Festival this year which is going to be held October 28th-31st.
The Poconos Film Festival is dedicated to the gift of creativity and embraces everyone regardless of economic, social or ethnic status. The PMFF was established to provide some of the best independent filmmakers in the world with the opportunity to showcase their work. Their audience is a compilation of film lovers, critics and buyers who are searching for that independent film — to either purchase or distribute for sale.
The festival also provides a social network for filmmakers to introduce their screenplays or independent films directly to an audience of shoppers.
The PMFF, founded by Bridget O. Davis is honoring Murphy and also honoring actress Terri J. Vaughn with the Women In Film Award. Murphy will be honored with The Lifetime Career Achievement Award. Check out the website as they are going to make more announcements on who they will be honoring.
