Birdman Suing Jay Z & TIDAL For $50 Million Over Lil Wayne Album!

Posted Jul 17, 2015

Birdman and Cash Money Records are suing Jay Z and TIDAL for 50 million dollars, according TMZ. The issue stems from the “unauthorized release” of Lil Wayne’s project “Free Weezy Album” on the premium music streaming service.

The lawsuit claims Tidal’s release of Lil Wayne’s project was a “desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.” Just last month, Lil Wayneannounced his deal with the service. According to reports, Lil Wayne unlawfully gave permission for Jay Z’s Tidal service to release the album exclusively, as it goes against his contract with Cash Money Records, which explicitly states that Weezy’s music cannot be licensed to any other parties.

This comes at the heels of the Birdman drink incident over the weekend and indictment papers claiming Birdman and Young Thug had a part in the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting.
