The New York Comedy Festival will be held November 5 through 9 at multiple historic venues such as the Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden. The main headliner, is the legendary Bill Cosby who will perform at Carnegie Hall on November 8. The other headliners are Bill Maher, Maria Bamford and Comedy Central’s newest hit ‘Broad City’s’ Hannibal Buress.
The line up is not complete just yet, there are seven comedians that are at the top of their game that will headline the NYCF for the first time. These comedians are Comedy Central stand outs Amy Schumer of ‘Inside Amy Schumer’, Carly Aquilino, Marc Maron from ‘WTF with Marc Maron’, Chris D’Elia, Nick Offerman, Jessimae Peluso and ‘The Sarah Silverman program’s’ Tig Notaro. The festival will also have over 200 well known comedians performing 60 shows throughout the city over four days.
The festival has helped take well known comedians from the underground comedy scene and put them in front of mainstream audiences across the country. Among the alumni of the NYCF are Whitney Cummings, Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K., Kevin Hart, Wanda Sykes, Tracy Morgan and Andy Samberg to name a few. In addition to the stand up show, there will be entertaining and informative panels. The few that have been announced so far are “Behind the Scenes of the Colbert Report”, “ Live from New York… a discussion with the Saturday Night Live writers”, “Oddly enough: A Ben Stiller show reunion” and “Oh, Hello: Kroll Show”.
If you want to attend the festival, presale tickets will be available for Citibank cardmembers on August 6 at 10:00 AM EDT and will end August 10. The following day, tickets will be available for the general public at 10:00 AM EDT
