Beyonce, Adele, Kanye West and Justin Bieber will be taking over the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards when the annual award show hits New York City this summer.
The full VMAs nominations list was released on Tuesday, and Beyonce is the queen bee, leading the list with her career best of 11 nominations in total for her visual album “Lemonade.” Adele followed Beyonce, racking up the second-most nominations with eight in total, including seven for her “Hello” video.
The night’s biggest award — video of the year — will be a race between Beyonce’s “Formation,” Adele’s “Hello,” Bieber’s “Sorry,” West’s highly controversial “Famous” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”
Other artists nominated include Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Coldplay, Sia, Fifth Harmony, Chris Brown, The Weeknd and the late David Bowie.
Before the 2016 MTV VMAs — which air live from Madison Square Garden on Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. —fans can begin voting on Tuesday for the categories of video of the year, best male video, best female video and more. Voting for the best new artist award will be open through the VMA pre-show the night of the awards. Nominees for best song of the summer will be announced later.
