OCTOBER 2014 COLUMBIA SC – Comedian, Actor, Writer and Producer, Akintunde accepted the 2014 Grady Nutt Humor Award – Comedian of the Year honors on this past Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee during the pre-show of the annual GMA Dove Awards ceremony. The prestigious honor is awarded annually to a faith based comedian who furthers the cause of Christ through comedy.
Past winners include, The Veggie Tales, Bone Hampton, and David Mann. Akintunde accepted the honor along with his wife of nearly 19 years, Eunissa Warnock who serves as his Manager and Producing Partner.
Says Akintunde, “People don’t know that she’s my manager, we produce together, she even spell checks my scripts before I send them off.” Akintunde is a 22 year stand up comedy veteran with scores of national television appearances (BET, TBN, TBS, UP, Bounce-TV, etc…) and over 325 original television episodes as writing credits (Showtime At The Apollo, BET’s The Mo’nique Show, NAACP Image Awards, The BET Awards).

WOMEN THOU ART LOOSED CONFERENCE
On stage this past Friday night in Atlanta before more than 6,000 patrons who showed up for the late-night comedy show, TD Jakes Presents A Time To Laugh. Ak, Chris Tucker, Broderick Rice and Sheryl Underwood took the stage in the Phillips Arena during the TD Jakes Women Thou Art Loosed conference.
