We told you several months ago that veteran actor Dondre Whitfield (of All My Children, Mr. 3000, and Two Can Play That Game fame and overall one of the nicest guys you will meet in Hollywood ) had jumped into the world of stand up. At that time, it was interesting news because the former baseball player, boxer, and actor had never given any inclination that he was going to do stand up. But after a conversation with several comedians, he decided to make that leap.
We decided to sit down with Whitfield at the Pan African Film Festival to ask him what his journey has been like in the world of comedy, how he got started, and if there was anything that he didn’t expect as a stand up comedian. It was an interesting conversation and a different perspective from an actor who leaps into comedy.
